1 Year Reviewour impact on men's mental health
Supporting men to build practical tools to understand and manage their mental health has also been found to be significant for recovery (Oliffe et al., 2017)
Sean’s Place has now been open for 1 year, founded after losing Sean to suicide, our goal was to provide early intervention support that would prevent more men from reaching crisis point and support them in finding ways to cope and manage their mental health challenges. Since we began, our impact has been felt across Merseyside with men describing our service as “life saving” and “life changing”.
We have evidenced the need for a service like Sean’s Place in our community and hope we can continue to grow and develop in the next 12 months to provide free and immediate access to mental health support for men in our area.
This report highlights our impact, it evidences the role Sean’s Place plays in suicide prevention through academic research and also shares our timeline of growth since opening just 12 months ago.
