Our Ambassadors
Thank You to Our Celebrity Ambassadors
At Sean’s Place, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our incredible celebrity ambassadors. Their commitment to raising awareness for men’s mental health is invaluable, and their involvement helps us amplify our mission of breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and providing vital support to those in need.
Your Voice Makes a Difference
Our ambassadors play a crucial role in shining a spotlight on the importance of mental health, encouraging men to seek help when they need it most, and promoting conversations that save lives. Through their advocacy and visibility, they help us reach new audiences and inspire others to take action for mental well-being.
Meet Our Ambassadors
We are proud to have two passionate and dedicated individuals who have lent their time and influence to our cause. As actors, these ambassadors are leading the charge to change the narrative around men’s mental health.
Ian Puleston Davies
Ian was BAFTA-nominated for his writing debut, Dirty Filthy Love, starring Michael Sheen and Shirley Henderson, but Bolan’s Shoes represents his directorial debut. Producer, Terri Dwyer, and Ian Puleston-Davies have been friends for over 25 years, having acted together in serial drama, Hollyoaks, and had been looking for a way to work together again in a Producer/Director context – a dog-walk later and Bolan’s Shoes became that project!
Ian has been an actor for forty years – twenty years working in the theatre and twenty years in television. Ian’s most recent television appearances include ‘Silent witness’ and ‘Maigret’ for the BBC; ‘Marcella’ for ITV; ‘Tin Star’ for Sky television and ‘Pennyworth’ for Warner Television.
As a patron of OCD-UK and a lifelong sufferer himself, Ian was asked to present a documentary for BBC Wales about the plight of OCD sufferers in Wales.
As quoted by Timothy Spall whilst performing in Bolan’s Shoes, ‘Ian is an actor, so he knows how it works’ illustrating that Ian has used his experience of many years in front of the camera to be able to direct in a way that maximises the performance of the acting talent.
Ian has delivered acting masterclasses to members at Sean’s Place and attended a private Q and A session about his film Bolans Shoes which was a great evening for all who came. He also hosted our first ever Winter Ball alongside Terri Dwyer and is a huge part of our Sean’s Place family
Terri Dwyer
Terri Dwyer has been on the big and small screen for nearly 30 years, beginning her career on UK serial drama Hollyoaks playing Ruth Benson. Her vast contribution to the entertainment industry has meant her progression into producing has been a natural one. Her first project as a producer saw the writer go on to be nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award. Terri produced feature films ‘The Stranger in our Bed,’ based on a USA Today best-selling book by the same name, and ‘Bolan’s Shoes’, both projects under the Buffalo Dragon banner.
Terri was one of the cohorts on 2021/2022 Market Trader with Creative UK and the prestigious Female founder program , enjoying the learning process with other industry professionals.
Terri supported Sean’s Place to host their first ever Winter Ball fundraiser raising over £20’000, she said “I’m inspired and humbled by the lifesaving work that Sean’s Place do having witnessed it first-hand numerous times, sadly too many to count. It’s a place our community just can’t do without, the amount of men’s lives they support on a weekly basis should be proof enough on how needed they are. Men’s health is still a silent epidemic but Sean’s Place are trying to change that”
