February’s News and Events

Moel Famau Community Walk with Frequency Fitness

We’re thrilled to share one of our most recent partnerships with Frequency Fitness, which we launched with a community walk up the stunning Moel Famau in North Wales. This event was not only a fundraiser for Sean’s Place but also an incredible opportunity for people to connect, share experiences, and raise awareness around mental health.

Despite the cold and blustery weather, everyone showed remarkable determination as we made our way to the summit, turning a tough climb into a heartwarming experience of friendship, achievement, and shared purpose. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, took part, and supported this event – and a special shout-out to our new friends at Frequency Fitness for organizing such a memorable day.

MYGYM Formby Fundraiser

We are incredibly grateful to the amazing team at MYGYM Formby, who recently hosted a sponsored non-stop workout to raise funds for Sean’s Place. This was no small feat – participants gave it their all, pushing themselves to the limit as the clock ticked down, all in the name of mental health support in Sefton.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together, not only to raise money but also to spark important conversations about mental health awareness. Events like these truly help break down barriers and encourage people to know when and how to seek support. Thank you to everyone who took part and to the MYGYM community for your incredible efforts – you made a huge difference!

Goodbye and Good Luck!

At Sean’s Place, we’re incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers who generously give their time to support our mission. This month, we’re sadly saying goodbye to two of our amazing volunteers, Adam and Tray, as they move on to new roles within the mental health sector with Adam also going back to university to study his Masters Degree.

While we’re sad to see them go, we’re so proud of the next steps they’re taking and grateful for all the time, energy, and care they’ve given to Sean’s Place. We’re sure this isn’t a goodbye forever – we can’t wait to catch up with them over a brew and hear all about their new adventures. Thank you, Adam and Tray – you’ll always be a part of the Sean’s Place family!

February at Sean’s Place

As always we have been so busy throughout the month and in February alone, we have provided over 280 counselling sessions, over 50 suicide prevention sessions and have provided social support to over 400 men each week. It is always lovely to see so many people at the centre and hearing spaces filled with kindness and laughter despite everyone here having their own challenges. This month we have had movie night, a quiz night, played pancake Olympics, put on yoga and meditation sessions, been on bike rides, been fishing and provided courses and learning opportunities including putting our members through a British Sign Languagfe qualification and a self esteem course plus much more. And we don’t intend on slowing down anytime soon, so please do follow us on social media and get in touch if you would like to know more about what we do and how you can support us.
