Visit from Liverpool Legend Phil Thompson

March has been an incredibly busy month for our team and members! While continuing to provide our therapeutic sessions, we’ve also been creating exciting new opportunities for everyone. This month, some of our resident LFC fans had a truly special experience—a visit from Liverpool legend Phil Thompson!

Phil joined us for a lively Q&A session, sharing fascinating stories from his football career, filled with both highs and lows. Laughter filled the room as he reminisced about days gone by. To top it off, Phil happily signed LFC merchandise and spent time chatting with our members, making it a truly unforgettable day.

We would like to thank Phil and our friends at Liverpool Football Club for a lovely afternoon!

Out and About….

As the spring weather begins to emerge, we’ve been eager to get out and about with our wonderful members. Over the past month, we’ve been busy exploring different places in our community, making the most of the season!

At the start of the month, our cycling club embarked on a scenic ride to Perch Rock in New Brighton, followed by a ferry trip across the Mersey for the return journey—a fantastic adventure for all involved.

The following weekend, some of our members had the incredible opportunity to attend the Liverpool vs. Chelsea match at Anfield Stadium, thanks to our friends at LFC Foundation and LFC Red Neighbours. What a game it was, especially witnessing the legendary Peter Crouch score!

Our March adventures didn’t stop there. We also enjoyed a trip to the iconic Empire Theatre to watch Alan Bleasdale’s Boys From the Black Stuff and spent a day at the stunning Laurels Wood, where we immersed ourselves in foraging, bushcraft, fire-making, and even axe-throwing!

It’s been a fantastic month filled with unforgettable experiences, and we can’t wait for more adventures ahead!

March Fundraisers

Throughout March, an incredible team of fundraisers worked tirelessly behind the scenes, training for Liverpool’s Half Marathon! Among them were members of our service, their family members, and even our very own Nathan, our Suicide Prevention Officer, all running to raise funds and awareness for Sean’s Place.

On the day of the race, every single runner gave it their all, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication—not only in supporting our service but also in raising awareness around mental health.

To all our amazing runners, we hope you’ve fully recovered from this incredible challenge—your efforts truly made a difference!

Thank you and congratulations to you all!!!!

What’s new for March 2025…

Now that we have some sunshine, March seen the launch of some new opportunities for our members which will run throughout the Summer months and ensure that  our members have even more opportunities to be involved in wellbeing activities that make the most of the warmer weather and give us all a much needed Vitamin D boost! We also know that being outside in nature is very good for our mental health!

This is why our team have spent March planning outdoor activities for our members including the relaunch of the Hairy Hikers walking group, planning the expansion of our angling club and supporting members to train to be angling coaches, extended cycling outings and holding more sessions in our amazing garden which is currently undergoing an amazing transformation.

We cannot wait to see what the summer months have in store for our members!
