Please see below our Sean’s Place News & Updates October 2023!
We cannot thank you enough for continuing to support Sean’s Place, your support is invaluable to all of us.
With your help, we have support so many new men, as well as supporting our existing members.
October has gone so quick but we are looking forward to what next month brings.
Thank you for being ‘In This Together’ with us!
4 years ago was our first ever pilot day. Just 3 months after losing Sean, never did we imagine his legacy would be what it is today.
Huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way and to the many men who have walked through our doors.
We are so glad we existed for you
Coffee and Connect (with a bacon butty)
Thanks to funding from Sefton CVS we have began to serve bacon butties in our Coffee and Connect sessions and they went down a treat. We had 18 guys in one session who loved having their bacon butty and a brew together. 💙
Special thanks to Hollie, Brandon and John for joining us to help prepare it all for us
It was a fantastic day at the lake for our Angling Club recently followed by a BBQ to top off the day and celebrate some of our members catching their Personal Bests. Well done everyone
Art ClassSean’s Place has been very busy recently. We had a full house for our Coffee and Connect, then we were joined by Elspeth Moore in our Art class where we made Magazing bowls. We also had our welcome calls, consultations, counselling, 121 suicide prevention support and our bereavement group this evening.
An Evening with Sean’s Place
We have recently held our annual Evening with Sean’s Place and heard stories of hope from our incredible members plus we were entertained by our Sean’s Place band and had the debut performance from our new band “The Place”
It was a night filled with inspiration and a rollercoaster of emotions as we laughed, cried, and danced together.
Thank you so much to every person who came and supported us, helped out behind the scenes, or purchased raffle tickets.
It was a night we’ll never forget.
National Lottery Funding
We are delighted to finally be able to share that we have been successful in our bid for National Lottery Funding and have been awarded an incredible £235,651.00 over 3 years which will go a long way to ensuring we are still able to support men and their families in our community for a little longer.
We are beyond thrilled and relieved and thankful all at once for this amazing support and we couldn’t wait to share it with you.
Thank you to every single person who supports us through grant funding, donations, commissioning, fundraising or sponsorship. We couldn’t do this without you ❤️
80 males supported in one day
What an incredible achievement from our team.
Over 80 people have been supported in one day at Sean’s Place through yoga, mindfulness 121 support and cookery.
Plus, we have started serving hot meal prepared by some one lads in our Coffee and Connect on a Friday, we had delicious homemade beef stew.
So proud of our team and their hard work to make sure people have the best support at the right time.
Angling Trust Funding
Some of our guys took themselves off fishing recently for the first time together.
As part of the Angling Trust funding the aim is to get people fishing more so it was lovely to be able to loan them the equipment and see them get together and plan to go more independently. Well done guys
Pumpkin Carving-Halloween Special
We had a special annual halloween pumpkin carving session we loved seeing all the guys creations!
Sound Bath Session
The lads have enjoyed a very exciting sound bath session!
This was donated to us by someone very special to us and we can’t wait for the lads to come to the next one.
They all found it so relaxing!
We want to take care of our staff wellbeing as well as the lads so we have started a Fitness Friday for our team.
We had our fabulous Henry back with us putting our team through their paces. Amazing energy and support from everyone.
Sean’s Place in the Community…
The amazing Emily has raised over £600 for Sean’s place. Emily completed the Manchester Half Marathon and we couldn’t be more prouder and we can’t thank her enough for choosing to support Sean’s Place.
We appreciate every one of our amazing fundraisers!
Emma and her collagues had a bake sale at work in support of Sean’s Place and raised over £100 for Sean’s Place and they had even made these adorable knitted cupcakes for people with allergies.
Thank you Emma and Team!
