Happy New Year from everyone at Sean’s Place!

Here at Sean’s Place, we had a lovely time celebrating all things festive. We enjoyed two Christmas celebrations-a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a party with live entertainment from our wonderful and talented bands. One our highlights of our celebrations was giving out our end of year achievement awards for all the things that our members have accomplished over the last 12 months-well done to you all!

Thank You!

Once again we would like to say a massive thank you to all of the individuals and organisations that support Sean’s Place all year round. This Christmas we were able to give gifts and hampers to our lovely members which was a lovely thing to be part of.

Looking forward to 2024, we are really excited about helping more people and offering our members support, new experiences and providing more opportunities to meet new people, learn new skills and feel positive about their futures. We have really enjoyed reflecting on 2023 and everything we have achieved as an organisation and everything that our members have achieved….. 2023, here are some of your best bits!

What else happened in 2023??

We have supported over 3000 men this year, we provided 2912 counselling sessions and 780 social activities to men across Merseyside including mindfulness, art, fishing, quiz nights, cookery classes, music, training courses, Hypnotherapy, bereavement groups and lots more.
We had visits from both Andy Burnham and Steve Rotherham and introduced our new Patron Ian Puleston- Davies.
We also were supported by our incredible fundraisers whose donations were cruical to keeping our service running this included an incredible donation from Andys Smile, marathon runners, special events, mountain climbers, raffles, golf days, bingo nights, donut sales, and lots more. We are incredibly thankful and so proud of all our incredible fundraisers this year.
We were also donated to from families who had sadly lost a loved one this year who chose Sean’s Place as their chosen place for donations to be received. Thank you from us all 🩵
We were granted funding from The National Lottery, Steve Morgan Foundation, John Moores Foundation, Sefton CVS, Angling Trust, Vola, Frank Rogers and Merseycare which has enabled us to grown our team and provide more support than ever before.
Our amazing sponsors continued to support us too Excel Housing, SolidTek, Mats Consultancy, Carpenter Group, Extraordinary Collective.
We also introduced new roles within our team to meet the demand of our community, including a new Suicide Prevention Officer, an additional therapist, and an Activities coordinator.
We honestly can’t thank everyone enough who walked through our doors this year and trusted us at your most vulnerable times or those who supported us to keep our service running, or our amazing team who work so hard every day to keep our service the best it can be.

Social Support at Sean’s Place for 2024

Our timetable is always full with so many amazing opportunities for the lads to get involved with! We have a range of activities where they can learn a craft, gain qualifications, have a relax and make new friends.

As we welcome in the New Year, we continue with some of our 2023 timetable which includes coffee and connect, art classes, mindfulness, yoga, cookery classes and jam nights but we are excited to welcome back some previous programmes and also welcome in some new including a new hiking club, angling club, quiz nights and the launch of our new choir, ‘Sean’s Place Choir of Hope’.

As always we cannot forget to thank our lovely volunteers who come along and make these sessions possible and to all the lads who jump right in!
