During the period when the world was forced into isolation we knew that this would be a challenging period for anyone struggling with their mental health. Our team tried really hard to ensure that we kept in touch with out members through our peer support Whatsapp group, door step deliveries of wellbeing parcels and challenges to help make isolation a little less isolating. Here is an example of some of the things we have been up to at Sean’s Place…

Delivery of our Cook Book

We decided to create our very own cook book using some of our Sean’s Place favourites and introducing new ones to help our members get creative during this challenging period. The book was designed specifically to give our members something new to try at home whilst in isolation and we were overwhelmed to see our members getting involved and trying out new recipes.

We delivered ingredients for some of the recipes each week to encourage our members to get creative and try some of the dishes in our cook book. We were overwhelmed with the pictures we recieved from the home cooking efforts which included potato salad, rasberry & apple crumble, puff pastry twists and hot loaded wedges. Well done to everyone who attempted some of our recipes.

Our team remained in constant contact with our members  during the lock-down period by writing letters, meeting weekly over Zoom, setting creative challenges and carrying out weekly check ins. Although this has been a challenging period for so many we kept connected and supported our members in new and innovative ways, we even welcomed new members to the group too. We would like to thank everyone who was patient with us while we figured out a new way of providing our service and supported us by donating ingredients for our well being parcels. We look forward to reuniting with our members again soon.
