Thank you for being ‘In This Together‘ with us!
Sean’s Place Stories…
One of our lovely members at Sean’s Place, Michael, completed training in media at the end of 2022 and wanted to use his new skills to share his experience of accessing support. Michael has asked his friends to join him in answering some questions on video to encourage other men to also feel able to reach out for help. In each video they talk about what makes Sean’s Place special to them. We are so proud of Michael and all our amazing members in each video. If you have a few spare minutes, please show the guys some support by watching and commenting, we would really appreciate it!
Our Sean’s Place Stories can also be accessed via our YouTube channel & website! We would love you to check out our latest episodes below!
We are loving continuing our fabulous Man2Man sessions throughout this month. These sessions take place every Thursday and is a great way to get our guys chatting about all things wellbeing!
Those who attend the Man2Man programme regularly were also lucky enough to be gifted tickets for the Liverpool Legends vs Celtic Legends match on Saturday 25th March.
As well as this, our founder Debbie also made her Live TV debut on LFCTV, alongside Chelcee Grimes & Ian Stirling, talking about the work that Sean’s Place does for guys in our community!
Thank you to the LFC Foundation for giving us such amazing opportunities.
After a 6:30am meet up, our Angling Club had a great start to their month at Septhon Farm Fisheries.
Thanks to all your donations and support, all of the fishing equipment and travel is provided to our members so no one has to worry about purchasing expensive equipment to take part. The hardest part is getting out of bed on time😴!
Well done to our mentors Tony and Sam who have worked really hard to make it all happen.
On Friday 31st March, our members took part in a tour around the Williamson Tunnels to learn more about the history of our fantastic city. During the tour, our guys got to hear more about Joseph Williamson and his work, while exploring the fascinating tunnels that run beneath the Edge Hill area. Thank you to our wonderful mentors, Adele & David, for getting involved and having a great day our with our members!
We were really grateful to be invited to two great events this month too!
Firstly, we were invited to the Sefton Supported Housing Group Integrated Homelessness Pathway Launch. This was a fantastic event where we were able to hear about other services and their plans for future service delivery and also show others how we can help support this pathway.
Secondly, we were invited to Haydock Racecourse as part of our Transformation work with Merseycare. We are so proud to have created a brilliant partnership with our mental health teams so we can stop people falling through the gaps that can often exist when support comes to an end.
It was so important to us when we created Sean’s Place that this happened and now we are now able to evidence the power of collaboration to provide more effective support for those who need our help.
It was great to be back cooking again this month! We loved partnering with May Logan Centre and welcoming Hollie to Sean’s Place to help our guys make some fantastic veggie dishes. The food was delicious too!
Well done to the guys who took part!
On Friday 24th March, we welcomed the wonderful Lisa Jones into Sean’s Place to help our guys understand anxiety better and learn effective coping mechanisms to help them through difficult times. Thank you Lisa for working with our members to teach them some fantastic stress management techniques.
Step Forward Programme
We ended the month on a high with our fantastic Step Forward programme led by our lovely mentors Cameron and Charlie. This programme is always filled with positivity and meaningful discussions about life. Thank you guys for always bringing your positive vibes to these sessions!
This month, we also completed another Bereavement Group in partnership with Love Jasmine. This is such a special group to us all, we have received amazing feedback including our members telling us that…
“Having this group has been such a big help as I never felt judged and it has helped me to relax and feel like myself again”
“It has been great to know that others are in the same position as me, I feel so much calmer after sharing my grief”
We are so proud of everyone who trusts us to support them through their grief.
The next group will begin in May. Please contact us if you would like more information.
