Why we do it…
Here at Sean’s Place, we wanted to ensure that we create a space for men to feel safe and comfortable in our centre. Taking part in our yoga & mindfulness sessions is the perfect way to do this! These sessions will help you to truly relax and calm your mind.
Our sessions are suitable for those of all abilities! If you do not feel comfortable on a mat, feel free to get involved in some chair-based exercises too.
Yoga and mindfulness both have scientifically proven benefits which can help you to cope better with the stress and anxieties of daily life. It can help improve mood as well as improving mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, sleep and pain. These sessions can even aid memory, concentration, awareness and other cognitive skills! Yoga and mindfulness has also been shown to help prevent relapse of depressive symptoms.
What is it?
Yoga focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living! Yoga is an ancient practice that involves physical poses, concentration, and deep breathing which aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness.
Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.

Taking part in our sessions each Thursday morning can help you to relax and refresh for the day ahead!

These sessions promote recovery from and treatment of addiction, reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, improve sleep patterns, and enhance overall well-being and quality of life.
